The third and final day of the Adult Space Academy at the US Space Camp in Huntsville was a fun half day of eating star shaped breakfast foods, launching rockets, and saying goodbye to new friends. It's a transitional period of leaving the make-believe world where we're kids pretending to be astronauts and entering the real world again. Here's that happened:
Astronaut Applications opened on December 14, 2015 and are schedule to close on the 18th of this month (February 18, 2016). Now is the perfect time to live out that childhood dream and start your career as an astronaut!
In June of 2015 I had the amazing opportunity to attend a NASA Social Event. According to the website NASA Social is "a program to provide opportunities for NASA's social media followers to learn and share information about NASA's missions, people, and programs... NASA Social program includes both special in-person events and social media credentials for individuals who share the news in a significant way." So, basically, NASA picks social media users to attend exclusive events related to current project that are going on within the agency. The lucky people who are picked get to learn about cool NASA stuff and then post about it on their own social media. Sounds great, right? RIGHT. Heres everything you need to know about these NASA Socials.
The second day of Space Camp was very full (prepare yourself for a mountain of pictures). It was the only entire day of the camp (Friday and Sunday were both half days). It consisted of two missions, one of which lasted two hours, rocket building, a museum tour, and IMAX movie, and riding the multi-axis trainer. Day two really was so much fun and i couldn’t possibly write down all the cool experiences I had but here is an attempt. :)
